Canada Post Outlets and Service Canada Centres
Receiving agents review passport applications for
accuracy and accept payment.
In cooperation with Passport Canada, participating Canada Post outlets and Service Canada Centres now serve as receiving agents for Passport Canada. Receiving agents are responsible for reviewing passport applications to ensure accuracy and completeness. They will also accept payment. Applications are then forwarded to Passport Canada for examination and processing. Final decisions on passport entitlement remain with Passport Canada.

To Pass through a Port
One of the earliest mentions of a passport dates back to about 450 BC. The origin of the word "passport" is the French passe port, literally meaning "to pass through a port."
