Studying Abroad

Canadians have studied in every country of the world, and each year thousands of students begin new education or research adventures in foreign countries. Many countries encourage student exchanges in the belief that both countries will be enriched. The Government of Canada, Canadian universities and colleges, and hundreds of organizations and associations support international exchanges and internship programs which encourage young Canadians to learn new skills that will help them compete in Canada and the global economy.

Every effort is made to make your experience studying abroad as easy as possible. However, moving from your country of citizenship to another is a complex matter, and careful preparations are necessary if you are going to reap the benefits. In some cases, you must obtain special permission, such as a study permit, to study in a foreign country. For specific information on the requirements for studying abroad, contact the Canadian Government Office in your destination country.
